I live and work by the sea in Hastings Old Town, where I make hand-bound artists' books, drawings, paintings, lino prints and objects; plus write, curate arts projects and exhibitions, and lead workshops. I exhibit regularly in Hastings and the south east, in London; and at specialist UK book fairs and events.

My work addresses informal collections; the homemade, domestic archives; womens' craft history; ornithology; found objects and imagined pasts. I live on a back street surrounded by nesting pigeons and gulls and am fascinated by the eccentric characters that dwell in every town (the obsessive hoarders, the pigeon feeders, the oddly dressed and those who sell oddments on blankets and bed down under hedges.) Over the last two to three years, this has formed a particular body of work resulting in costume, performance and a series of drawings, books, paintings and handmade objects.

I am also co-director of Creative Coast, an arts company that for the past three years has run the month-long annual Coastal Currents arts festival in Hastings and St Leonards, and managed projects in empty shop spaces. We have recently been invited to coordinate an arts project space in the new Stade Hall community building on the historic seafront Stade site- part of a major cultural re-generation plan in Hastings, which includes the new Jerwood Gallery & an outdoor performance/ events space. This will be our main base until October 2011.
